Dionysus is the wandering god of ecstasy, wine and terror – representing the polarity of pleasure balanced with pain, and oscillates wildly between extremes of bliss and agony. He is an androgynous, gender-bending rockstar. And in our modern interpretation, he’s caught in a feedback loop of gluttony, pleasure and pain.
